Who operates the site?
Meridian Safety Group Inc., a Delaware company, owns and runs Fire Protection Hub. Everything you read here, from the guides to the state pages and the alarm questions, is the company's own work.
Fire Protection Hub is not a fire department, not a government office, and not a group that writes codes. Building inspections aren't part of its work; equipment installation and servicing aren't either.
Where a call goes
When you call 833-632-2855, the call goes to an independent fire protection contractor who serves your area. That contractor quotes and does the work, and you agree terms with them directly. Fire Protection Hub doesn't charge you for the call or the request; the price of the work is between you and the contractor.
Your call may be recorded so the contractor can write down your building's details correctly. A short notice plays when the call starts.
If you send a service request instead, a single contractor serving your ZIP code will receive it. That contractor may reach you about your request by phone, text, or email.
How a contractor is chosen
We send your call or request to one contractor, picked by where your building is. That contractor has told us they work in your area, and only they get your details.
The only information we keep for a contractor is the area they said they cover. We don't check a contractor's license, insurance, or how good their past work was, and we promise nothing about it.
When the contractor answers your call or reaches out about your request, that's when you find out the company's name. If they don't give it, ask for it before you share any details about your building.
Things to check before you sign
- The full legal name and street address of the company.
- The license or certification number your state requires for this type of work. Your state's fire code page tells you who issues it.
- A certificate of insurance with your company named on it.
- A written quote listing the visit dates, the NFPA standard for testing each system, and the systems themselves.
If no one on the line serves your ZIP code, your local fire marshal's office can give you names of companies that work there.

Along with these guides, you can print two sheets: the fire watch log and the fire inspection frequency chart.
The writing process for the pages
Each guide is built from the real rule books: state fire marshal pages, standards from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the International Building Code (IBC) and International Fire Code (IFC), both from the International Code Council. Each rule or figure on a page links back to where it came from.
The codes change from one state or city to the next. In the end, your local fire marshal, the official who enforces the fire code where your building is, decides what your building needs. Code books call that office the AHJ (authority having jurisdiction).
Our company pages use only what each company publishes about itself. No business listed on the site is connected to Fire Protection Hub in any way.
