The family and the business behind the name

The business began with Wayne Gey in 1978. A Jacksonville office came along in 1988, followed by the Concord, North Carolina office in 1996.

On January 10, 1997, a Pompano Beach branch hosted its open house. Tampa joined in 2002, which was also the year Clark Gey took over as president. Today Clark Gey serves as CEO, while Justin Gey holds the President role.

From 2007 to 2009, Wayne Gey chaired the National Fire Sprinkler Association's board. In 2019, he entered its Hall of Fame.

Services for different kinds of buildings

Service teams at the company handle fire protection and fire alarm systems. Their work spans commercial, residential, industrial, warehouse, and institutional buildings.

Emergency help is available around the clock, and the company says it can reach sites quickly throughout the Southeastern United States.

Sprinkler installation

According to the company, no installation job is too big or too small. That could mean a small stand-alone unit or a large integrated system covering several buildings.

Its own experienced team does the installation work. Field training, the company says, is meant to keep every job in line with the sprinkler rules set locally, by the state, and nationally.

Pipes that run underground

The buried pipes that carry water from the street into a building's sprinkler system are known as underground fire lines. This work is available in Florida and North Carolina.

The idea behind Minutes Matter

The company's brand message is Minutes Matter.

Questions worth asking any contractor

The company's own pages are the source for the facts above. The questions here are general ones you can raise with any quote.

  • Which office would look after your building, and who would come out?
  • Does the underground piping belong to the same job as the sprinkler work?
  • What is covered in a yearly service price?
